While the House Republicans and individual states continue to work to overturn Obamacare, an individual who advocated for the same thing in his own state is at the head of the pack for the Republican nomination.
After almost 4 years of conservative Republicans preaching about wanting to minimalize government involvement in our lives and wanting to reduce spending across the board, according to a recent poll, Romney has almost an 8 point lead over Donald Trump and the rest of the potential nominees. Despite coming out strong against Obama since the beginning of the campaign for the nomination, conservative voters need to understand that, despite of any personal intentions, healthcare provided by the government doesn’t allow for minimalized government. These things grow, develop, gorge tax dollars, and grow some more.
An example of another program that, since instituted, has grown and become too large would be the unemployment system. Initially, the program was intended to supplement cost of living expenses for a very short period of time until the individual is able to find work and provide for themselves again. According to a recent NYTimes article the average person is on unemployment for 28 weeks, though some states allow it to be applied for up to 72 weeks, some advocating raising it to 99 or more.
Any conservative voter has to look at Mitt Romney with a level of scrutiny and concern. Mitt Romney is a RINO, or Republican in name only and a progressive. He has developed a track record as such with other policies and actions to include helping raise money for Planned Parenthood. In 2005, Romney was listed by Human Events as #8 of a top 10 RINO’s in the Republican Party list.
Every conservative Republican, Libertarian, and/or Tea Party member needs to look beyond what the media is saying about Romney and beyond all of these polls, most of which are likely manufacture. The liberal progressives want Romney to win the candidacy because they know that he will bow down to Obama, allowing him to win the race. If that wasn’t the case then Palin and Trump wouldn’t be on every list and we would see more from candidates of merit, such as Herman Cain or Ron Paul. Look beyond what the media shows you. We can expect this to be a common theme for the duration of this campaign cycle. Open your eyes and educate yourself.
