Transforming People into Patriots

It’s time for the Big Spenders to put their money where their mouths are. The politicians show little concern when it comes to taking the working man’s money, it’s time for them to go through the ringer that they are putting the average working man through. These free spending politicians are always suggesting that they are looking out for the average working man, but in reality they are looking to feather their nest at our expense. One gets a bit tired of hearing that they are out to get the fat cats, while simultaneously expanding the public workforce that is digging deeper into our pockets. Is the electorate so dim-witted that they are missing the objective of these so-called representatives? Unemployment Insurance was designed to carry a laid off worker for half a year, not for three years. Even if we had a locked box for this program, it would have been showing a deficit a long time ago. We once took a position that we would destroy communism by forcing it into bankruptcy; now of representatives are demolishing our Nation by inserting many of the same principles that brought down the Soviet Union during the Cold War. It is time to show them what is in store for them before we get to the point that we can no longer sustain ourselves.

There’s only one way to make these bureaucrats realize the error of their ways; they should be made to feel what most people are feeling as a result of their actions. There is a large portion of the population that has retired and trying to make ends meet with their Social Security check, retirement programs, and investments that they may have made throughout the years; however, the government is chewing away at their capital at all levels of government. The Federal Government pretends it’s looking out for the little guy, but the programs that it initiates not only takes its toll at the Federal level, they flow down to the local level as a result of the unfunded mandates given to the states, counties, and cities. We the people need to send a message that the bureaucrats’ programs have to be funded from the public sector, and that the major portion of the capital that is needed will be extracted from those in the higher echelon of the bureaucratic public sector and from any gains resulting from the elimination of waste and inefficiency. Our elected officials can show their concerns by bringing down the cost of government and applying the gains to helping out those in need. It would be interesting to see how our representatives would react to a proposal of this nature.

It has been suggested that those in the public sector making twice as much as those in the private sector considering wages, bonuses, and benefits; there should be no complaints about a reduction below that of the private sector or the people that are paying for their services. One can hear the cries of all those bureaucrats wailing about all those fat cats with all their money, but the difference is that people are giving freely to those fat cats, or they wind up with it as a result of the government giving our money to them, or the politicians have neglected to initiate legislation to control their abuses, or failed to enforce legislation intended to keep them honest.

Just think of what would happen to all that power that our political parties have been building for all these generations. It seems inconceivable that one would continue to believe the hogwash that is heaped upon us by many of our elected officials, of both parties. One can only hope that the electorate will question whether they are free to exercise the freedoms that our Constitution has acknowledged are ours as a right given by the Creator. Are you a free person or a serf?
