BOLIVIA, NC – A forum featuring Republican candidates for the 7th Congressional District attracted a standing room only crowd in Brunswick County yesterday. Candidates Will Breazeale and Ilario Pantano debated the issues for an hour and a half. The winner of the May 4 Republican primary will face off with Democrat Mike McIntyre in November.
“The huge turnout at this event is indicative of the level of interest and enthusiasm among conservatives who want to restore our government to its founding principles of limited government and economic freedom,” says Frank Williams, Chairman of the 7th District GOP. ”Federal spending and our national debt have skyrocketed over the past year and a half. It is imperative that we elect new, fiscally conservative leaders who will end wasteful spending and stop saddling future generations with a mountain of debt.”
“The May 4 Republican Primary will determine which candidate carries our party’s banner this November,” Williams adds. “We encourage Republicans and unaffiliated conservatives to get to know our candidates,
determine which of them they feel should carry the Republican banner in November, and then get involved with the campaign of their choice.”
The forum was sponsored by the 7th Congressional District Republican Party and co-sponsored by the Brunswick County Republican Party, Brunswick County Republican Women’s Club and Lower Cape Fear Young Republicans. North Carolina’s 7th Congressional District includes the following counties in southeastern North Carolina: Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, Cumberland (part), Duplin (part), New Hanover, Pender, Robeson, Sampson (part) and Scotland (part).
